1. Image Size

Your image placeholder layer should be the exact same size as the comp.
If it’s not, user images will show up cropped. This is because we ask the users to upload an image of the same size as the image in the template, regardless of comp size.
If your image is larger than the comp, use the script from to fix it.
will render out the a frame at comp.duration / 2, import the rendered image and disable all other layers in the comp.
Effectively, this will crop your image to make it exactly as big as the comp is, so that users will know the proper image size and have them display properly.

2. Image Effects

If you are adding effects onto your image placeholder like Tint, Triton etc... Make sure to add appropriate controls for users so they can disable those effects if they don’t want their images in black & white or whatever effects you’ve added on the layer.

3. Image Fit/Zoom

Image Placeholder should be set to Zoom in most cases, unless you are creating a template where you specifically want the uploaded image to fit (Like a
