Week three has been interesting in the world of aviation for me. To start, I scheduled my checkride for my private pilot certificate. The checkride will be in a month, and I believe I am just about ready for it. Getting this has taken a long time and has been very challenging to be where I am now.
Purdue's NDS club hosted its second velocidrone tournament in WALC, which I participated in. In total, about 40 people attended, and among them, I placed third in the competition. Velocidrone and fpv flying are so different and easier in a way than flying a remotely controlled fixed-wing, like in SeligSim. Even though FPV drone flying is significantly more unstable, I find that simply seeing where you are going makes it much easier to fly than being on the ground, where you have to deal with parallax, for me with a background of flying planes for a very long time, it's all easier but specifically taking off and landing on both fixed wing and quadcopter.
