Your Sentry devices will already be provisioned to your wifi network. This means they will automatically connect to your wifi network once they are turned on, however, you will still need to assign them to a room in the Sentry app. To do this, refer to the instructions below:
Plug device into power and turn on the device by quickly pressing the back button. (Do not hold the button)
If you see the device flash 3 light blue lights (top, left, right), this means that the device has turned on.
If you see the device flash 3 light red lights, this means the device has turned off. Press the power button again to turn the device back on.
Wait 1-2 minutes until the device flashes 3 Green lights. This indicates that device has successfully connected to internet.
The Sentry will now need to be put in BLE pairing mode. To do this, press firmly where the top LED light (see blue arrow) would be on the front of the Sentry and hold this until the device begins blinking light blue (you will see all 3 LEDs blinking).
The pairing mode will initiate after 5-6 seconds of holding the button. If you do not see the lights begin to blink after 6 seconds, let go and press and hold the button again.
In the Sentry app, you will need to create a property to assign the devices to. On the “Dashboard” tab,
Go to the “Settings” tab then select “Room Assignment”.
Select “Find Sentry”. The app will search for the Sentry device. Once it is found, the bottom button will show “Connect”.
Press “Connect” and you will be taken to a room assignment page. Enter the Room Type and Room Name then press “Assign Room”.
There are two room types, Room and Suite.
Room - Used for a traditional sized hotel room.
Suite - Used for larger suite type hotel rooms.
You will now see your device appear under the “Devices” tab.
Once you are finished assigning the Sentry to a room you will need to manually turn off the BLE pairing (the 3 blue lights will still be flashing). To do this, press and hold the top button on the device for 5-6 seconds until the lights turn off.
Your Sentry can now be mounted to the wall.
Troubleshooting
App can’t find the device during the “Room Assignment’ step
Sometimes the app will have trouble finding the Sentry device. There are two solutions that we have found to remedy this:
Power cycle the device and restart the app
Turn off the Sentry and close the Sentry app.
Turn the Sentry device back on and wait for the 3 green lights to flash.
Place the Sentry into BLE pairing mode (3 blinking light blue lights)
Open the Sentry app and go to “Room Assignment”
Attempt to search for the device again.
Turn the device off and replace it with a new device, then come back to it later.
This doesn’t mean that the device is faulty. It may just need to be left offline for a period of time to reset.
You can come back to that device and use it in a different room later.
If none of these solutions work, please contact the Wynd team and we will have a new device sent to you.
