Mounting the Sentry to a Wall

The Sentry can be installed multiple ways in a room.

Wall Mount using Double-Sided 3M Sticker

The first way to mount the Sentry is to use the provided Double-Sided 3M Sticker.

Remove one side of the adhesive backing and place the sticker on the center of the backside of the Sentry.
Notice how the sticker follows the contours of the outer edges of the Sentry.
We recommend placing the sticker just above the Wynd label.

Once you have placed the sticker on the back of the Sentry, remove the remaining adhesive backing from the sticker.
Make sure that the charging cable is plugged into the Sentry at this point.
This is very important. Once the Sentry is mounted to the wall, it is very difficult to remove. You will not be able to add the cable afterwards.
Take a wet cloth and wipe the wall where you wish the Sentry to be placed. This will remove any dirt or dust that can prevent the adhesive from sticking. Then using a dry cloth, dry the area you cleaned.
Firmly press the Sentry against the wall.
Do your best to make sure that the Sentry is level for aesthetic purposes.

Wall Mount using 3M Command Strips

For a less permanent solution, you can also use 3M Command Strips to mount the Sentry to the wall. Due to the size of the Sentry, we suggest using Medium or Large sized Command Strips.

Wall Mount using Screws (POE only)

You can also mount the Sentry to the wall using wall screws. To do this:

Remove the backing plate of the Sentry by placing the Sentry face down and inserting a flathead screwdriver into the slot found at the bottom of the device.
If you have not done so already, remove the power cable from the device.
Using the flat head screwdriver, pry upwards against the plastic latching mechanism. This will cause the backing plate to pop off.
Place the backing plate against the wall where you wish to install the Sentry. Using a pencil or pen to mark the placement of the four holes on the wall.
You will also need to drill a hole where the USB-C cable/POE adapter will be coming through the wall. This hole must line up with the rectangular hole at the bottom of the backing plate.
Begin screwing the screws through the holes of the backing plate, making sure that the inside of the backing plate is facing towards you.
If you are mounting where a stud is located, you will need to drill holes for the screws to fit.
If you are drilling into drywall, you will need to drill holes and insert anchors for the screws to go into.
The hook of the backing plate should be facing upward, and the latch should be at the bottom (see image).
Once the backing plate is securely attached to the wall, line up the Sentry with the backing plate, insert plug in the USB-C charging cable, and attach the Sentry to the wall.
If you are mounting the Sentry to the ceiling, before mounting the Sentry to the backing plate, remove the adhesive on the back of the Sentry. This will provide an extra source of protection connecting the Sentry to the backing plate.
