Enjoy a morning of Stand-up paddle in ‘Laguna de Condado’ (less than 10 min in Uber), where you can try some Stand-Up Paddle or Kayaking. Rent a board for $20/hour. Take a Surf class in La Punta.
Snorkel in El Escambrón
Easily the most scenic of San Juan’s coastlines, the Balneario El Escambrón has three beaches with calm, relaxing waters, a park on its outskirts, and is surrounded by Old San Juan. It’s ideal for a laid-back sunbathing; quiet, leisurely soak; and snorkeling — particularly at Playa 9, where fish gather around concrete boulders. Guided scuba dives are available; check local companies (Scuba Dogs is one) for tour info.
BTW:For snorkeling, bring gear. There are no on-site shops.
Icacos island
This island is one of my favorites. It is beautiful and very good for snorkeling. Don’t forget to bring a cooler, food, drinks, a sunshade, etc. because there are no services on the island.
How to get there? Travel to Fajardo (50 minutes drive)
From there take a water taxi to the island - do not forget to coordinate/ask about pick-up time. It costs $ 25 per person. Water taxi # 787-562-4226 or 787-645-2247.
Charter a private boat to take you for the full day. It is a very fun experience. It costs around $400 for 10 people. Prices are subject to change. Confirm with Captain Rodrigo Morel at 787-209-8484
Gozalandia
Gozalandia has two beautiful waterfalls in San Sebastian, almost 2 hours away from SJU.
