The Board Room

Philippians 4:13 In My Heart Out Loud

THIS verse got me in a pickle... St. Augustine's College ---now Saint Augustine's University ---was under a government mandate to upgrade its administrative computing system or face losing all federal financial aid. In other words, the college would cease to exist.

The VP that fired me (then re-hired and gave me a raise all in the same day ‼️) for refusing to do what I deemed unethical had us all sitting in the board room to brainstorm a solution. A BIG MOUTH mentioned I'd been taking advantage of the employee benefit to take (mostly computer) classes. 😡 The VP said, "Lorrinda can you upgrade this system?" I lost my mind (apparently) and (surely) took on the mind of Christ, stood up and blabbed THIS VERSE.

My hand went over my mouth. My eyes got super wide. 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓? I sat down. The VP said, "Great, let's get it done." --- I was so clueless about what that even meant. In prayer I told God that I felt like he set me up so surely he was going to show up and help me do whatever he had in mind.

The next 18 months was a wildfire of study, trial-and-error, travel and prayer. I learned every job each administrator did manually, computerized it and taught them their new job using the new system. After all of that I was the campus hero and was very comfortable in my corner office with a bunch of freedoms.

THEN a fortune 500 company heard about the miracle and offered me 3 times my salary. Another setup. God did it again. And he keeps on doing it...

When your desire is to be led by the Spirit of God, it can look a little C-R-A-Z-Y. Imagine what they must of thought about Prophet Isaiah walking around naked and barefoot for three years!

We should build trust during our personal relations with the Holy Spirit through The Word so whatever it looks like you are firm believing that God is able... and you are too!! ❣️
