I am Lorrinda and was born into the deeply religious Stewart family and when I set out to figure out adulthood, I found a world with little interest in accounting for my beliefs and desires.

I discovered entrepreneurship as a vehicle to have more say over what my days looked like and by prayer, higher education, trial, error and research discovered that the best business for me required Christ at the center; but churchianity had no established systems for integrating itself with business ownership. Move My Mountain is the company I founded in 2006 and moved away from religion for the sake of being religious and simply clung to the precious guidance and never failing promises of Scripture.

Corporate Success 🥲

I made over $300,000 the year I gave it all up because I realized that HOW money was made was just as important to me as HOW MUCH was made. The search began to find the right business model. A model that was profitable, but also in alignment with my ideals. I spent the next years experimenting.

My business stabilized after learning one key, life-changing thing from Myron.

Before I tell you what that was, let me tell you how I instantly knew what he was telling me was true. I knew it was true because it was the Word of God. The interesting thing was I had heard it before, but had no system to apply it to make my here-and-now better. After spending all these years serving my customers, I now understand what it takes for anyone to access their power and I have learned a ton from being in the rooms with Myron's multi-million dollar community. In our day, we would say he had a remote or work from home job. His Royal Assignment was to study the law and painstakingly copy the Torah by hand. When the nation needed a leader, he was ready.

Skill Building

We must be willing to develop our relationship with the Bible, as well as developing skills valuable to the marketplace. The very things that got my foot in the door with Myron were the skills I learned in the corporate world and at a college I worked at. That college was under a mandate to upgrade their student information system, or lose all of their government funding. For them that would mean they would cease to exist. About three years prior to that mandate, I went to the college to finish my degree because a company I was with before that, made it sorely clear that I would not be promoted without it. My resignation at that company gave a few hours notice. My supervisor reminded me to give at least two weeks so the record would look good if I decided to come back. I gave her the answer that came from deep inside... "Ms. Judy, If I come back here I will die." At that point I already knew who the Bible says I am in Christ. After years of going to church and reading the Bible, I knew that I could choose to be where I was celebrated, not tolerated.

The Scripture Standard is a demo using some of the most helpful Bible Study tools I'd come across in years. It was so empowering to not only do word studies, but to make searchable notes of my thoughts, questions and revelations that helped me connect the dots. The Bible is a cover-to-cover, verse-by-verse, book-by-book lifetime proposition. It is so interesting to have read something many times, then suddenly in the right season, it seems to jump off the page in a whole new way. God is so faithful.

Maybe it sounds extreme to burn a bridge and never be able to return to a job that had taken you years to build up a good record. What I learned about that company, however, let me know that place should never be a place where I settled. There was a systematic “unspoken” policy to promote by favoritism, not by merit. I didn’t have the right “favor”. It felt evil... no place for a daughter of the King. Back to the "Save The College" story...

I was the default Director of Administrative Computing I was summoned to a mandatory "save the school" meeting. The administrative computing “department” consisted of exactly one person... me! I had come to that school because it allowed employees attend classes almost free. One of the Vice Presidents reminded everyone that I had been taking a lot of computer-related classes and he asked me if I could upgrade the system. My answer was shocking. I don’t know what came over me! I did not have that kind of experience. After all, I was the lady running the copy machines for the school that just happened to be located in the computer center and was only “promoted” because the last director did not refuse a Fortune 500 offer.

Only me and Ms. Wilhelmina were left in the building and was only there something like twice a week. I called IBM support and got just enough information to rotate the backup tapes in the big computer. Thank goodness we never had to actually restore from those backups. I assumed the computer was doing what it was supposed to do. Other than that, I was clueless. I stook up in that meeting and blurted, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!” What? I thought as I sat down a little confused. Who was that? I have no idea how to do that.

Over the next several days in prayer, I realized I’d been setup. I was exactly where God wanted me to be and had said exactly what I was supposed to say in that meeting. I spent the next 18 months learning UNIX, figuring out the student information system, documenting EVERYTHING, and going back and forth to trainings. Before all of that started I was diligently taking classes at that college. I was also taking courses from any other nearby college or university that fit my schedule. I stopped all of that to focus on the project at hand.

The job that I had before I took the job at the college helped me believe the lie that the only way to make progress was with a degree so I was hard after it. So many people think the key to success is a degree or going back to school for another degree; even when the first degree didn’t create the success they were promised.

The Right Mentor

The right mentor can teach you how to join top earners without being lucky, winning the lottery, going to a traditional classroom, or selling anything to your friends or family. I ended up with a bachelors and masters degree but to this very day know for sure that money could have been better spent elsewhere. All of that schooling taught ZERO about financial literacy and wealth creation. I’d been lied to about money my entire life. Wealth creation is a value proposition. All the money we desire is in somebody else's pocket. To get it in our pocket we must offer them something more valuable to them than money. THAT is the secret to wealth. Mentors help us apply that secret. There are three things we must do to create a value exchange in the marketplace:

Learn what the marketplace values

Create that value for the marketplace

Skillfully offer that value for a profit

The only way to start increasing your income is to increase your perception of what the marketplace values; to improve your ability to create or obtain that value, and then to improve your proficiency at offering that value to the marketplace. You don’t increase your income by delivering something the marketplace doesn’t value. To be a better person is a much better reason for working hard than getting rich. Hard work is not the key. The truth is if you are working on the wrong things, no matter how hard you work, you will always have a ceiling on your income. The level you offer value on is more important than how long or hard you work. Focus on work that builds income producing assets so you can make more offers in the marketplace. It’s a numbers game. Paying Life

At any rate, that was where I was so I stopped everything and focused on this GIGANTIC college project. I had to learn the old system; then learn the new system; then learn what every single employee in every office did on the old system; then work out their new workflows on the new system; then teach every person their new job on the new system. Truly God was with us. That project is the major one that tipped me over the edge become a Certified Project Management Professional with

--it was only God and His mercy that helped me do all of that. Of course the word got out in the community that used that same computing system. We were finally upgraded and a one woman show led the way. The corporate head hunters came knocking. Needless to say, I didn’t turn down my Fortune 500 offer either. But unlike my predecessors, I left a wealth of documentation and helps behind. One of the people who took my old job at the school actually tracked me down and invited me to lunch. He said that he just felt the incredible urge to shake my hand and say thank you because all he had to do was follow the detailed material that I left behind and the unfamiliar system that he was suddenly responsible for was a lot less scary. That was so nice.

Systems are my wheelhouse; especially the ones on the web. I remember learning HTML just to update the last updated page on the college website. Nobody asked me to do that, I just wanted it to look like somebody was paying attention enough to change the date every now and then. I’ve done web development and graphic design for my customers over the years, but the systems I love most buy freedom for entrepreneurs to efficiently run their businesses, with or without a team.
