10 minutes - Review the recording
First, quickly scroll through the chat to see how the chat was used during the session, and catch any obvious red flags to look into more.
Second, watch parts of the recording, based on the instructions below. Note: We recommend watching 1.5x speed!
Scroll to the part of the recording when the first learners join (you can check the transcript for the timestamp of the beginning of the conversation). See how they welcome the learners and build a respectful environment.
Watch the tutor’s introduction to see how the tutor sets up the context for the session.
Watch the first few minutes of actual teaching / tutoring. Scroll through additional snippets of the tutoring, as needed, to see what techniques the tutor used and whether the learners were following along.
Watch the conclusion of the session. Did the tutor check learners’ understanding? Was there evidence of learning?
You may prefer to take fill out parts of the peer review form as you go through the recording the first time—that also works!
