We're looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team, focusing on building robust cloud infrastructure, integrating systems securely, and driving our CI/CD practices to maintain high-quality deployments.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll design, build, and manage the cloud infrastructure and backend systems crucial to our innovative AI products. Your role will involve close collaboration with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient backend solutions.

responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure and Architecture:

Design and implement highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure primarily using AWS, while maintaining familiarity with Azure and GCP.

Employ infrastructure as code (IaC) practices utilizing tools like Terraform and Ansible.

Architect and maintain Kubernetes and Docker environments to support containerized applications and microservices.

Integrations and System Reliability:

Develop robust integrations between internal systems and third-party services, ensuring stability and performance.

Ensure backend systems meet security requirements and adhere to compliance standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.

Collaborate proactively with data scientists and ML engineers to streamline workflows and ensure smooth operation and data integrity.

CI/CD and Automation:

Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to automate testing and deployments.

Continuously improve deployment processes, system monitoring, logging, and alerting for proactive issue detection.

Drive automation across the software development lifecycle to optimize efficiency and reduce manual effort.

all about you

5+ years of professional experience as a backend or infrastructure engineer.

Proven track record designing and deploying secure, scalable backend systems and infrastructure.

Expertise in managing and deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker.

Demonstrated ability to integrate diverse systems and securely manage sensitive data.

Passion for automation, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams.

location

Hybrid role based in New York City; open to remote U.S. candidates willing to travel monthly to our NYC office.

compensation

$150K-$170K base salary + performance bonus + excellent benefits and perks + equity
