One time in an interview for a cool startup the CEO asked me what metrics I would track day one. Instead of saying I have no idea (the real answer), I just paraphrased a few Paul Graham quotes that I had top of mind: “ A startup is a company designed to grow fast.... The only essential thing is growth.”...”"Growth is the only evidence that you're doing something right.” so I would I would track day over day, month over month user and MRR growth.
He was so happy I thought he gonna try to kiss me through the zoom window. So if you don’t know the answer to something, and it isn’t prudent say I don’t know...just quote someone really smart.

Chatgpt knows a lot of quotes and anecdotes. So I created a prompt to try to capture what I am calling: pocket tech luminaries. Use it to invoke the perfect Jobs, Gates, or Graham quote or anecdote in any situation.

Use this prompt

I’ll give you topics and I want you to only respond with the most appropriate quote that has at least one topic word in it from Paul Graham, Steve Jobs, Jack Ma, Reed Hastings, Satya Nadella, Warren Buffet, or Jeff Bezos. The quotes must have at least one of the topic words in it. (10 quote options).
