Rootopia is seeking a User Researcher to become one of the early members of our growing Product & Design Team. As a User Researcher, you will champion the voice of the users and customers and your research findings and insights from your research initiatives will influence and shape our product strategy as well as how will we make impacts on our user’s everyday lives.

What you’ll do:

Partner closely with product managers, product designers, product engineerings to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify gaps & opportunities
Executing end-to-end lifecycle of user research projects (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, communicating, budget research) and defining the scope of the research projects, including success criteria that aligns with company’s goals
Design and execute appropriate research activities to answer relevant design and/or business questions, leveraging and triangulating both qualitative and quantitative methods (observation, interviews, journals, ethnography, surveys, lab studies, instrumentation, desk research, competition analysis, etc.)
Partner with Data Scientists and other Researchers, Scientists to help extracting both qualitative and quantitative data to ensure an ever-evolving view of the customers, users; and together executing new experiments
Synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful, actionable insights and develop strategic recommendations based on research insights and goals that can inspire across product teams
Tailor findings through research reports and presentations for multiple audiences and address overlapping needs from various stakeholders, from the user’s point of view.
Championing a human-centered approach by eliminating biases and ensuring accessibility and other forms of inclusivity built into everyday research practices.
Act as an internal evangelist for our customers, our users within the organization by identifying tools for disseminating key insights effectively across the organization.
Utilize a broad set of tools and constantly ensure learn from research best practices to improve our research tools and processes.


What we’d love to hear from you:

Have at least 3 years of experiences in Research Academia, or Marketing Research or roles that has Product background
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Strong leadership and management skills to deliver projects and customer insights within and across product teams and cross-functional stakeholders that resulted in measurable product impact.
Great storytelling skills and presentation skills to frame insights into compelling narratives
Familiar with a wide variety of research methodologies, understand their strengths and make trade-offs, especially with design research methodologies: usability studies, field studies, in-depth interviews, heuristic evaluations, concept validation, user journey maps, benchmarks, competitive reviews, and surveys.
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and perform a wide variety of research-related tasks, including recruiting participants when the situation demands it
Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collecting and analysis. Past experiences working with Product Analytics and Data Scientist is a plus.
Well-established portfolio that demonstrates solid research techniques and ability to make a meaningful impact is a plus
Have experience with end-to-end lifecycle of user research is a plus
BA/BS in social sciences, or in human-centered design, including Anthropology, Psychology, HCI / Computer Science, other related fields and even Marketing — This is a rough guide, but we recognize that strong researchers come from a variety of paths and backgrounds — please apply if you feel you’d be a good fit!
