Airport Information — LRCS/CSB
Private
The airport and the testing facility are fully private. This is a big advantage as any decisions can be taken very quickly and testing can begin in a few days after signing of the contract.
Authorized
The airport itself is authorized by the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority (RCAA) as a public airport and can close the airspace on-demand by issuing NOTAMs when testing is performed. The segregated airspace is also authorized by the Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration (ROMATSA).
Area, Runway & Taxiways
Total area of the facility is 200 hectares.
Current runway has a length of 2.000 meters and a width of 45 meters with a load capacity of 70 tons. There are 3 taxiways with 15 meters in width that connect the runway with the apron where the hangars are.
Location
The airport and testing facility are located in the western part of Romania, in the city of Caransebes. This is advantageous from two perspectives:

Segregated Airspace
Cage
Cage testing for UAS that are not ready to be tested at high altitudes. This testing method is useful for testing basic controls and manoeuvrability.
Cage testing is done in a hangar with 5 meters high ceiling and an area of 1.200 square meters.
VLOS
Visual Line of Sight testing is for systems that are ready for flight and need to start testing at higher speeds.
VLOS testing can be done on the whole surface of the airport of 200 hectares and to a ceiling of 390ft. This ceiling can be extended with prior request.
BVLOS
Beyond Visual Line of Sight testing is for products that are in an advanced development stage and are required to test long-range communication, high speed cruising and backup emergency systems.
BVLOS segregated airspace is 60 kilometres in length, 100 meters wide and 3300ft high.

Hangar Space
There are 3 hangars that can be used, each with an area of 1.200 square meters, concrete flooring, heating and electricity.
All hangars have access to the apron, taxiways and runway.

Office space is available

Rooms are also available, each with 2 beds for a total capacity of 30 people.
Bathrooms, showers, kitchen also available.
