When encountering missing save files, please follow the standard debug flow below. Ensure that your game is updated to the latest build before trying the solutions.

Solution 1: Replace Meta.txt

To replace the meta.txt in your saved data, follow these steps:

Download

meta.txt⁠

Open the path of the save file (Press Ctrl + Alt + O / Command + Option +O in the main menu).

Windows: C:/users/username/AppData/LocalLow/RedCandleGames/NineSols/saveslot0

Mac: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/RedCandleGames/NineSols/saveslot0 Please also refer to

if you are unsure how to access the path above.

Select the corresponding saveslot folder according to your save on the File Select page.

Launch Nine Sols on Steam., go to the main menu, and switch to the window opened in Step 2.

⁠

Paste the downloaded meta.txt from Step 1 and replace the original file.

⁠

Return to the game and select [Exit Game].

⁠

Launch Nine Sols again and locate your restored saved data. Please don’t worry if the position and playing time showing on the below page don’t match your save files. It will be refreshed when you rest in a Rood Node. If you find yourself in the Four Seasons Pavilion with no light, please move on to try the following solution.

Solution 2: Download Save Files from Steam Cloud

To retrieve and use the save files from Steam Cloud, follow these steps:

Open your

Steam Cloud Page⁠

, find Nine Sols, and click Browse Files.

⁠

Locate the files named meta.txt and flags.txt with the latest dates written and download both files. (Ensure that the folder column matches your OS system - Win/Mac.)

Open the Download folder and find the downloaded files.

⁠

Rename them to meta.txt and flag.txt.

⁠

Initiate Nine Sols on Steam, and go to the main menu.

⁠

Open the path of the save file (Press Ctrl + Alt + O / Command + Option +O in the main menu). Replace the original files with the downloaded meta.txt and flags.txt.
