Session 8 - Day 4

The Mysterious Entity remains missing, so you’re gonna have to figure things out by yourself. Having returned to the intersection, you know decide which way to go. You’ve angered the lake creatures and eaten weird mushrooms from the middle path, and you were almost killed coming out of the dense forest behind you. In a decision no less arbitrary than a choice of heads or tails, the party decides to take the left path. Given the misfortune of past travels, the party also decides to stealthily move from tree to tree along the way, ensuring they’re hidden from enemy sight.

Some sneak above the cliffs, while others sneak on lower grounds. Eventually, both routes converge in a sort of “midland”. Slowly, so slow as to be unperceived, the climate gains greater humidity and darker, heavier, clouds appear. Puddles start to emerge, with each next one being ever so slightly larger than the one before. Over the course of a morning, the bright and dry plains transform into a wet and gloomy swampland.

While still hidden by the trees, the party observes something moving through the swamps. More precisely, it seems the swamp itself is moving! Without hesitation, Black Ninja strikes it. Though he maintained his stealth, the swamp creature now has a vague idea of his position, and retaliates! In one swift action, Black Ninja is now bloodied. Everyone panics and starts jumping from one side of the large central swamp to the other. Some, like Black Ninja, fall into the swamp, while others make it across with no problem.

During the commotion, Shadow Arc and Vanish start to wonder about the nature of this creature. Eventually, they realize it is an elemental, but are unable to ascertain what type. In hopes of distracting this elemental, Silver Drigon attacks it. And it works! Silver Drigon successfully distracts the elemental from Black Ninja – perhaps too successfully. With its focus now on Silver Drigon, the elemental carries Silver Drigon and teleports from swamp to swamp, dragging Silver Drigon through the filthy waters.

The battle continues, but as much as the party does, the elemental persists. Will you defeat it? Or will it just be too much for the party to handle…?
