Session 4 - Day 3

With everyone now awake, and fully healed, the party attempts to escape the dense forest. After climbing up a cliff, you all reach an intersection. Alderon leads the party in the same direction as you've been walking, and takes the middle of the three possible routes. After trekking for close to a half-hour, following a thin river, you come across a vast bright blue lake. Realizing, there isn't much hope of reaching land on the other side, you decide to cross the river.

Suddenly, you realize a swarm of fins circling you. Everyone panics and rushes to other side as quickly as possible. Though some are injured, all of you get across safely, while the Mysterious Entity fends off the sharks. Once across, everyone decides it's best to retreat, for there's nowhere further to go.

Jump! As it turns out, the sharks were in fact the minions of a Sahuagin! She jumps out of the water, cornering all of you along the edge of the river, where dozens of sharks have now gathered. Armed with her gold trident and razor-sharp claws, the Sahuagin scratches and pierces each member of the party. Unfortunately though, her relatively weak body isn't able to sustain the spells and weapons of Mordethe, Black Ninja, the Mysterious Entity, and Alderon, leaving her dead in the end.

Tired and exhausted, all of you take a breath... except for Black Ninja, who upon realizing the Sahuagin may have had eggs under the lake, dives into the lake, hoping to pinch them. To his surprise, there are eggs! However, they're far too big for all eight to fit into his medium-sized pouch. As such, he decides to take only 6, before reaching for the surface.

Strike! A harpoon shoots through Black Ninja's ankle, pulling him dozens of feet down under the lake. As asphyxiation takes over, Black Ninja slowly blacks out, before the Merrow holding the harpoon throws him out of the lake. A battle ensues, but Mordethe and Alderon leave it alone, wanting nothing to do with this superfluous fight. Still pushing on, Black Ninja tries as best he can to grab his pouch from the tight grasp of the Merrow, but is ultimately unsuccessful, as the Merrow knocks him unconscious. The Merrow extracts his eggs from Black Ninja's pouch, before throwing the pouch onto Black Ninja, and jumping back into the lake.

What a long day!? Sharks, Sahuagins, and a Merrow! Well, it's only going to be the first of many, as it's all downhill from here...
