A typical week may look like..
Overseeing the month-end close process, including identifying and posting the journals required.
Carrying out analytical reviews of your own work, and that of other members of the team, to help identify and resolve anomalies.
Triaging and responding to partners’ finance inboxes on Front which many include queries from suppliers and employees
Tagging invoices and receipts in Front, processing through Dext and into Xero.
Collating information for monthly payroll filings and create draft pay-runs.
Overseeing credit control process including scheduling outbound emails and filtering responses
Setting up supplier and payroll payment runs for review.
Preparing the trial balance for statutory filings
Preparing and filing VAT returns
Implementing a new process
Coordinating closely via video calls, Process Street, Front and Slack with the FinOps Manager or FinOps Lead to provide them with updates on the various areas you are in charge of and feedback where a system or process could be improved.

You might hear them say..
“I have spotted that this process that [FinOps Manager / Lead] has documented could be improved. I am going to suggest the improvements to them”
“The volume of the inbox has really gone up and looking at the trajectory, it’s going to keep going up. I’m going to speak to [FinOps Manager / Lead] to let them know so that we can plan ahead and make sure we still have the right scope to get everything done”
“I don’t know the answer to this payroll query. I will research the answer or post on Slack and check with [FinOps Manager / Lead] to make sure I am able to respond to the partner correctly.”
