The role involves...

Help your coachees navigate our skills ladder and progress

Act as a bridge between Quantico and each member of the team

Manage any difficult conversations that need to happen, for example performance improvement

Earn the trust of your coachees, understand how they really feel about work, and help them develop a long term plan

Understand their strengths and weaknesses and help them understand them too

Being a line manager ie allocating work, having conversations with partners or reviewing work

Get out of the office to make it clear its not a standard work conversation

Don’t combine the career coach conversation with operational catch ups

Ask open questions and summarise back what you’ve heard

Don’t feel like you always have to propose a solution, sometimes listening is just as good
