One of the things that I have found very frustrating in my last few SAP implementations (ever since I discovered Coda!) is that SAP consultants are still making use of the same spreadsheets and word processing docs to gather information that they have used 30 years ago.
In my free time I am building some Coda docs that will take SAP information gathering to the next level.
The first available doc covers Table 030, which is the integration between the Materials Management and the Finance Modules. It is maintained in transaction OBYC in the Implementation Guide.
This guide includes Table 030 itself, as well as the Valuation Class with Account Category Reference.
It uses cross doc functionality to pull in the GL Accounts and Descriptions from the GL Account Master data doc which is used in the mapping to the Materials Movement Events. The mapping is done using lookup columns, searchable by both number and description.
It also integrates the SAP IMG help information at the Event and Event Modifier level.
The doc contains several different views of the same information
A business oriented view that shows the information in accounting language;
A few views that will assist in checking and reviewing the information;
And finally, a view that is used to prepare the upload file for loading into SAP.
