Food rigging - tricks done to food so that it stands still, usually used for high stacks
Depth of Field - how much of the image is in focus
Food styling - beautiful arrangement of food in the picture
Plating - the process of arranging and decorating food to enhance its presentation.
Props - anything at all used to better support and add meaning to the main subject in a photo
Backdrop - the background
Diffuser - a semitranslucent material placed between a light source and a subject which scatters light beams to soften light
Reflector - an improvised or specialized reflective surface used to redirect light towards a given subject or scene
Exposure - the amount of light which reaches your camera sensor or film
White balance - the process of removing unrealistic color casts, so that objects which appear white in person are rendered white in your photo
Natural light - the sun as a light source
Artificial light - any light source that is not naturally occurring. Artificial Light includes things like flash/strobes, of course, but also any street lights, indoor lighting, or other man-made light sources
Noise - a certain type of visual distortion. It looks similar to grain found in film photographs
ISO - a camera setting that will brighten or darken a photo. As you increase your ISO number, your photos will grow progressively brighter
