Can a chip in a truck or bus windscreen be repaired?
In some cases, a windscreen chip on a truck or bus can be repaired (just like a chip in a standard vehicle windscreen). Our specialist technicians in our Truck and Bus team will assess the damage on your windscreen to see if we can fix the chip using our Advanced Repair Technology (ART) chip repair system.
We will recommend a complete windscreen replacement if the chip can’t be repaired. At O’Brien®, we have a repair-first policy, so we always prefer to try to repair a chipped windscreen with our system rather than replace it (as it’s faster, cheaper and greener).
How long does a truck or bus windscreen replacement take?
Once the new windscreen glass for your truck or bus is available at the fitting location, the team of O'Brien® expert technicians can replace your bus and truck windscreen in around 90 minutes. Once the work is complete, after waiting for 15 minutes, you can drive away with confidence.
We recommend avoiding washing your truck or bus (by hand or drive-through wash) or touching, pushing or putting any pressure on the new glass within the first 24 hours after replacement, as this may interfere with the adhesive setting process.
Do O’Brien® carry the windscreen glass for my truck or bus?
As Australia’s leading vehicle glass repairer, we carry an expansive range of windscreen and window glass for trucks and buses, often reducing wait times for replacements. If we don’t have the specific glass in stock for your truck or bus, we’ll order the required glass and keep you advised of the expected time for delivery to your nearest fitting location.

What is the cost for truck and bus glass replacement or repair?
