Update on the DEX for the next few weeks/mods’ experience with the platform in the first few days
Zanimol:
Product: DEX is looking stable, will get better messaging and notification online. Another is just a “better closing position flow”, feels like when you close the position, the information presentation gets better (UI/UX?)
After that focus on stability and more assets for trading
TRyanAir:
Testing the platform under various scenario is interesting (seeing how actions affect position, etc) and fun.
For first time option users, I think the platform is quite intuitive ← I agree. With expiry tmr, things might get interesting as well
ZetaBurns:
Trading on option should be careful; you might want to write down strategy on paper and double check thinking.
his voice was a bit fuzzy I couldnt catch much...sorry
On trading option:
Zanimol:
When trading options you really are playing with leverages → think of options as contracts. Betting all your saving on one contract is bad idea, try to hedge risk by spanning out number of contracts
TRyanAir:
Loads of learning lessons
Questions:
Q: Why is there a limit to the deposit to mainnet?
When things get on mainnet it’s scary; it is real money. We will scale up later; and scale up proportionally with liquidity providers.
Q: How do we prepare / resolve hacking with smart contract? what prep was made in those situation?
Every line of code is tested already. We will constantly use the platform as well to detect any potential down-function.
Q: Soon SOL will be EVM Compatible, any plan to take advantage of this?
Composability is a very interesting stand point to see this question. Being EVM compatible will attract many Eth devs into buliding Sol. So more projects and things will certainly pop up. Zeta will certainly get the most juice out, saying from a high level for now, whether that means better service/UI/UX, or bolstering the ecosystem.
Q: Any thought of expanding to other chains? L2s are making CLOBs possible, and have the speed and costs to compete with anything
Similar to above; Zanimol says “the focus might lie in how users feel; they don’t necessarily need to understand which chain we using.” ← our core is still serving the users and think from the users’ perspective (think like an PM)
Q: Maturity now seems kinda short...any plan to add longer Maturity options...
We will definitely add that maturity options. We will get around to it soon, but I agree that Maturity options are a bit short.
You can get quite deep once delve into expiry, but we looking forward to handling it
Q: What is the big differentiator for zeta vs. other options protocols on solana?
We under-collaterlize, so more capital efficient → more MM can make more volume → traders user more money effectively → repeat. Basically, we reduced friction for transaction and trading, and we made the trading much more simple (from the user perspective) → make it intuitive for traders. It just looks pretty (and I agree).
Q: How does Zeta include dynamic volatility into the BSM-based pricing model, why does that lead to higher profit for LPs?
zanimol: not sure if it will lead to higher profit for LPs. Bascially, the dynamic volatility is a reflection of how the platform think this option’s true and accurately priced (bascially, zeta need to have a mark price); on high level, if people are buying and not selling, the price will bump up; basically following the law of supply and demand
TRyanAir: if you go to our github of ours and solana, you have many tools and can build from there
Q: Will ZETA team pay more attention to smaller traders? Will there be any incentive program specifically designed for smaller traders?
Yes. Mainnet is out, we cautious on that liquidity is important (once sucks, hard to stop). We implement an incentive mechanism for LPs and traders, so (3, 3), and not just the big winner takes all. This is also an important way for the community to engage with the product
Q: will multiple expiration dates be available for rolling options?
Yes. Will have them on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and stuff alike.
Q: What are the utility of ZETA tokens? If I cannot actively trade what other ways can I be incentivised by holding ZETA tokens? How to do more community engagement?
Currently we have a rough idea, but very very beta. Next few weeks will build concrete ideas, and make it actionable for people. Stay tuned for the next 2wk or so!
Bounty program → anyone can just take them down and efficient ones will be rewa$ded. Always hop on and build something~
