HSN support

Context -

The removal of 6/8 digit HSN support for marketplace sellers was implemented to combat GST fraud. However, with the rise of national and D2C brands on Meesho, the lack of 6/8 digit HSN support is now a significant barrier for onboarding and listing products from major brands like P&G and Jockey.

Proposed Change -

Eliminate backend validations that block listings uploaded with 6/8 digit HSN in bulk uploads / single and M-Web uploads

Remove frontend validations that block listings with 6/8 digit HSN in single and mobile web uploads

Rollout -

The feature will be scaled up directly, with no need for an A/B test.

Operations intervention -

Once changes are made live, SSCAT level HSN mappings would need to be updated for sellers to select accurate 6/8 digit HSNs per SSCAT. This will be implemented by -

Sourcing the 6/8 digit HSNs requested by brands per SSCAT and vetting the same from tax / finance team -
