6 Best Red Dot for Fn 502 in 2026: Mounting & Compatibility

From budget-friendly to high-end: Finding the perfect red dot for your specific shooting needs in 2026.
Best Red Dot for Fn 502 selection is more important than many shooters realize because the FN 502 Tactical is one of the most optics-friendly rimfire pistols currently available. With its factory optics-ready slide and suppressor-height sights, the pistol is designed to take advantage of modern micro red dots. However, not every optic works equally well on this platform. Window size, footprint compatibility, deck height, durability, and battery access all influence how enjoyable the pistol is for training, plinking, steel competition, and defensive skill development.
After extensive use of optics-ready rimfire pistols, I’ve found that the FN 502 rewards red dots that balance lightweight construction with reliable zero retention. The six optics below consistently stand out for mounting compatibility, sight picture quality, and long-term usability on this handgun.

HOLOSUN 507C

55299346448_c4a60aa4ed.jpg
The Holosun 507C remains my favorite optic for the FN 502 because it combines an excellent feature set, durable construction, and broad mounting compatibility. Its RMR footprint makes installation straightforward using the appropriate FN mounting plate.
Specifications
Footprint: RMR
Reticle: 2 MOA dot / Circle-Dot
Battery: CR1632
Battery Life: Up to 50,000 hours
Housing: 7075 aluminum
Brightness: 10 daylight, 2 NV settings
Pros
Multi-reticle flexibility
Side-loading battery
Strong aluminum housing
Excellent value
Cons
Slight blue lens tint
Open emitter design
My Hands-On Notes
The side battery tray is a major advantage because I can replace batteries without removing the optic and disturbing zero. Button tactility remains positive even with gloves. The window is large enough for rapid target acquisition, and parallax shift is minimal at practical handgun distances.
Deck height works well with FN's suppressor-height sights, creating an effective co-witness picture. I noticed very little edge distortion, and the recoil impulse of the .22 LR platform never challenged the optic’s durability.
What People Say Online
Most shooters praise the 507C's reliability, battery life, and reticle options. Many FN 502 owners specifically appreciate how easily the optic mounts using available RMR-compatible plates.
Mounting Clarity
Requires the FN 502 RMR-compatible plate. Direct mounting is not typical on the FN 502 slide.

Trijicon RMR Type 2

The Trijicon RMR Type 2 established the standard for duty-grade pistol optics and continues to perform exceptionally well on the FN 502.
Specifications
Footprint: RMR
Dot Sizes: Multiple options
Housing: Forged aluminum
Battery: CR2032
Waterproof construction
Automatic and manual modes
Pros
Exceptional durability
Proven track record
Crisp dot quality
Strong recoil resistance
Cons
Bottom battery access
Smaller window than some competitors
My Hands-On Notes
The RMR Type 2 feels nearly indestructible. Even though the FN 502 generates relatively light recoil, I appreciate using the same optic I trust on centerfire pistols. The buttons remain tactile with gloves and resist accidental activation.
Parallax performance is excellent. Lens tint is noticeable but not distracting. The housing shape slightly narrows the viewing window compared with modern competition-oriented optics, but the tradeoff is unmatched durability. Co-witness with suppressor-height sights is excellent.
What People Say Online
Owners consistently report years of reliable service. The RMR's reputation for surviving hard use remains one of its biggest selling points.
Mounting Clarity
Uses the RMR footprint and mounts via the FN plate system.
