The role ⚙️

As engineering hire #1 and a full stack software engineer at Mindjoy, you’ll be a core part of building Mindjoy’s AI-enabled learning platform. You will work closely with the CTO and Mindjoy team to build out new functionality, iterate on product experiments and incorporate user feedback into the product. You will help ensure that the platform is stable, scalable and performant. You will build innovative features using the latest advances in large language models and AI.

Examples of what you could do 🏗

Implement a pipeline for school and curriculum content
Extend Mindjoy’s Text To Speech (TTS) features to enable
Apply multimodal LLM features to interactive student learning experiences
Build out Mindjoy’s educator community marketplace with high quality search, ranking, moderation and social sharing
Migrate Mindjoy’s
SPA to

You will 🎯

Work independently to build new features that solve customer problems and create delightful experiences.
Collaborate, share ideas and make sense of user feedback to ensure Mindjoy’s product is continuously improving.
Author pull requests and review others’ code to help build a culture of high quality contributions. Refactor code regularly and collaborate with the team to make improvements to Mindjoy’s way of working.
Help ensure the Mindjoy platform is reliable by responding to bug reports and mitigating production issues when they occur.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and help the team incorporate these new technologies into the Mindjoy tech stack.

Skills and experience ✅

> 3 years experience as a full stack software engineer
> 1 year experience with a scripting language (such as Python, Ruby etc.)
> 1 year experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, Svelte etc.
Optimistic and enthusiastic about the future of AI
Willing and able to work autonomously
Strong ability to communicate

The role ⚙️

As the first UX designer at Mindjoy, you will play a significant role in shaping the user experience of Mindjoy's AI-enabled learning platform. Working closely with the CTO and the Mindjoy team, you will be instrumental in designing intuitive and engaging user interfaces, ensuring a seamless interaction for both educators and learners. Your work will directly contribute to the evolution of the product, taking into consideration user feedback to refine and enhance the user experience. Your designs will need to support the platform's stability, scalability, and performance, while integrating cutting-edge AI features.

Examples of what you could do 🏗

Design interfaces and interactions for AI agents that guide and assist users on the Mindjoy platform. Your designs will focus on making these agents intuitive and efficient, enhancing the learning experience.
Design features that embed inquiry-based learning pedagogies into Mindjoy's platform, creating more interactive and exploratory learning experiences for students.
Develop intuitive and informative dashboards for teachers. These dashboards should provide valuable insights and analytics to help educators improve their teaching methods and pedagogical approaches, thereby enhancing overall educational outcomes.
Design mechanisms within the platform that encourage social sharing among users. Your focus will be on creating features that not only enhance user engagement but also serve as effective growth levers for Mindjoy.
Develop the UX/UI for Mindjoy's educator community marketplace, focusing on intuitive search, ranking, moderation, and social sharing features.
Design for professional development loops within the platform, aiding educators in their growth and skill enhancement. Your work will focus on user-friendly interfaces that facilitate continuous learning and professional improvement.

You will 🎯

Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in UI/UX design, especially within the context of AI technology, and advocate for their integration into Mindjoy's design strategies.
Play a key role in ensuring the reliability and usability of the Mindjoy platform by addressing design-related issues and challenges.
Independently develop and iterate on design features that address customer needs and elevate user experience.
Collaborate with the team to interpret user feedback and continuously refine the product's design.
Contribute to a culture of high-quality design through regular reviews and constructive feedback on teammates' work.

Skills and experience ✅

5 years experience in UI/UX design, with a portfolio showcasing relevant projects.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe, tldraw.ai or similar.
Experience in designing interfaces for web and mobile applications.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
High bias to action and an ability to create structure in an ambiguous environment.
Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively.
