We are excited to share some important changes happening soon. Over the coming months, the Enablement Team will be undergoing a major transition. Please read this message in its entirety for more details & reach out to your leader with any questions.
TL;DR
The Enablement Team as it exists today will be dissolving to allow our development efforts to better support our Business Units in their growth objectives. This change opens up new opportunities for each of us to expand our skills and impact.
The Highlights
New Team Locations: Team members will ultimately transition to one of the following four teams: Business Services: NEW Internal Technical Services team that will support applications such as Contract Management, Procurement, Finance, and other applications that support our core business functions. Product: Serves CE & Orbit Ag, along with any future Business Units that have not reached a maturity level to support dedicated development resources. Will also explore how we can productize our applications to generate revenue. Collaborative Cross-Functional Teams: We will continue to foster collaboration by forming cross-functional teams that focus on shared functions. These include (but are not limited to): UX/Front-End: Define and maintain standards & collaborate around Front-End and UX strategies. Software/Solutions & Systems Architecture: Continue establishing architectures that can be leveraged by all BU’s to accelerate development Data Architecture: Building robust data structures that are flexible, with the appropriate amount of standardization to support all BU’s. Job Security and New Opportunities: Rest assured, everyone's job remains secure. There will be a position for each team member in the new structure, allowing us to continue contributing our talents and expertise to the organization's success. We are excited about the opportunities these changes bring and look forward to starting this new journey together. We truly appreciate your hard work and dedication as we move forward with hope and enthusiasm.
The following section contains some FAQs that will hopefully address any additional concerns you have. We’ve also scheduled a team Town Hall meeting later this week, where everyone will have an opportunity to share thoughts or additional questions details can be found below.
FAQ
Why are we making this change?
There is a growing need for development services to be more embedded in some of our business units, allowing us to move faster, reduce context switching, and deliver better results. This also empowers these business units to take greater ownership of their software applications and investments. Conversely, other business units may not require as much ongoing development. These units will have the flexibility to make strategic decisions about their investments, creating business cases for new initiatives and assessing their overall impact before pursuing a software solution
When will the change take effect?
The details of the transition will take some time to iron out. As of now, no immediate changes are being enacted. You will likely see some new development roles being posted in the next week or two inside CCRM. Beyond that, more timelines will become available as the transition plan continues to unfold. We will keep everyone updated as we learn more.
Which team will I be assigned to?
No team assignments have been made or finalized as of yet. As these new positions are posted within CCRM & BR, all team members are encouraged to apply for positions that are of interest to them. If you have interest in joining a specific team, please speak with your leader & we can ensure the necessary conversations can be coordinated. Again, as the transition plan continues to come together, additional information will be made available regarding the resource needs of each team.
Why make the announcement before details are known?
It’s important that everyone is aware of the coming changes so that as new roles are posted within Business Units, our team members can make the best decisions for themselves about where they’d like to continue growing with CCR.
What happens to the core services we’ve established (activity maps, event templates, libraries, etc.)?
We are working on ensuring that standards we’ve worked hard to establish over the last few years can be maintained & built upon as we disperse ownership to the BU’s. This will be a key topic for all cross-functional teams, to ensure that critical standards, processes, and structures are being maintained, while allowing the business units the flexibility to make decisions that best serve their business & products.
What’s Next?
