Testing Event Tracking

To see if event tracking is firing for your ad and what type of tracking is enabled, you can follow these steps:

Navigate to an ad with a keyword. (Fig. 1)

Open the browser inspector. (Fig. 1)

Switch to the Network tab. (Fig. 2)

In the text filter, enter the term "track" and select "All" for the filter group. (Fig. 2)

Press the 🚫 button to clear the Network console. (Fig. 2)

Click on a tracked element of your ad. (Fig. 3)

In the Network console, click on the "track" event and open the Payload tab to the right. (Fig. 4)

Events are sometimes sent in batches, so you may see many payloads attached to a single event. Expand the numbers (0 in the example below) until you find a data node that has a dfp_creativeid. (Fig. 4)

Expand the dfp_creativeid node. The two relevant pieces of information will be dfp_event_type and dfp_event_location. (Fig. 4)
