Step 1: uploading into scoop

uploading the original (hi-resolution video) into scoop to get the file.

Step 2: getting the right file from scoop

ones the video has been transcoded in Scoop, please go to the “Video Files” tab (lower left corner) and you’ll see the following screen.

AS-BottegaVeneta-q124.jpg
please grab the url from either “video_360p_mp4” or “video_240p_mp4” video Type, just have to make sure that the file size does not exceed 3 Megabytes (roughly 3000000 bytes)

Step 4: Autoplay setting

in the same area as above, please select the AutoPlay drop down to true if you’d like the video to autoplay or false if you don’t want the video to autoplay, default value is “false”
if you choose to autoplay, the video player will automatically mute the video (browsers require the video to be muted in order to autoplay) and you don’t have to make any audio setting on your end.

Backward compatibility notes

the player is designed to work with the following previous use case:
non scoop mp4 urls
HLS or HLSMpeg url
video url in “Mp4VideoUrl” instead of “MediaURL”

Some Common Mistakes

here is a list of few things to prevent most common mistakes:
1 please don’t leave the VideoCover field empty. the video needs a poster / cover image to work properly
by default the AutoPlay field will populate with “false”. if you find that field empty, please select the necessary (true / false) based on your ad. leaving it empty will cause issue.
if you are using any external video url, please make sure its NYT google bucket hosted url
empty space before or after the url would cause the video not to work

WARNING

if the video url from scoop or external sources exceeds 4 megabytes, Google Chrome browsers will flag that ad and block it from displaying. so please select a video file that is lower than 4 megabytes (less than 3 megabytes is preferable). if you are having any issue on this, please contact
