Mettle API Overview

Here are the descriptions you can provide for your dev documentation — keep it simple, human, and scoped to their role:
Mettle API
This API gives secure, limited access to our proprietary sport psychology taxonomy. It’s used to power tools like:
Athlete-Coach session analysis
AI-written SOAP notes
Skill-based training recommendations
You’re not browsing the entire model — you’re plugging into known skills to generate intelligent outputs.

Use Case Description Example

You’re building:
An AI tool that reads athlete-coach transcripts and suggests:
session summaries
SOAP-style documentation
and targeted action steps

Your task:
Detect skills discussed in the session
Match them to Mettle’s existing taxonomy
Use the /skill-lookup endpoint to retrieve detail

You’re not required to generate new skills. Just match, retrieve, and output smart recommendations based on what you know.

Security Philosophy

You’ve been granted access to:
Lookup known skill IDs
View curated recommendation lists
Build smart workflows, not browse our ontology

If you need a new skill ID or want help mapping something new, ping the Mettle team.
Want to print your doc?
This is not the way.
Try clicking the ⋯ next to your doc name or using a keyboard shortcut (
CtrlP
) instead.
