I’m trying to treat this role with a sense of gravitas I haven’t really treated anything else in my life before. Part of this is being just having a lot of things planned out and whatnot. I wanted to ask, what should I have in mind before starting something, whether it’s a Halaqah night all the way to like workshops or other new initiatives? E.g., intended audience, the value I want different audiences to get from it, how it fits into the overarching question of maximizing the benefit that people receive, etc.
Is there a vision you have for education?
Every education director brings their own flavor.
We’ve had a lot of concern for basic Quran fluency and stuff.
Focus on a much more general audience.
Actively work against catering to one demographic. Cast the widest net possible to bring people closer to Allah. Once they’re here, then we have seminary.
