Carissa and I have a masterplan diagram for the main steps towards raising children.
I was gonna add to it "Finding godparents". To me, "parrain/marraine" (the french words) meant something like "someone that takes particular care of those children, and would be the backup guardians if the parents died or otherwise became incapable of raising the children". However, googling it, it doesn't really seem to actually mean that.
I was trying to find what other terms could mean that, but didn't find anything.
ask fam if they know whats at that origin of htis belief I was also wondering if this would be a good tradition.
