Review player

The Review Player is a specialized media viewer designed for collaborative feedback. It allows supervisors and directors to review shots frame-by-frame, draw on-screen annotations, and leave time-stamped comments for the production team.

1. Header & Window Controls

Located at the top of the interface, these elements manage the file view and window properties.
Filename Header [36]: Displays the name of the current file being reviewed (e.g., GODS_render_lighting_v015.mp4).
Timecode/Newest Sort [7]: Choose comment sorting by Timecode or Date.
Share Review [8]: Generates a link to share this review session with other collaborators.
Open in New Window [9]: Detaches the player into a separate, floating window.
Close [10]: Closes the review player window.

2. Notes Sidebar (Right Panel)

This section is for creating notes for the selected version.
Input Field [1]: The text box where directors or supervisors type their feedback.
Attachments [2]: Allows users to attach external files (images/docs) to the comment.
Note Type [3]: Buttons to mark the review note (e.g., "Decision" , “Client”, ..).
Submit Comment [4]: Posts the written feedback and links it to the current frame.
Comment Feed [5]: Displays the history of feedback. Shows who commented, and when.
Comment Actions [6]: Options to "Reply" to or "Edit" a specific comment.

3. Playback Controls

Located at the bottom left, these tools control the video playback.
Play/Pause [11]: Starts or stops video playback.
Loop Toggle [12]: Enables or disables looping of the video clip.
Playback Speed [13]: Adjusts the playback speed.
Frame Counter [14]: Shows the current frame number and the total frame count (e.g., 36 / 221).
Timeline [15]: The blue marker indicates the current position in the video; can be dragged to scrub through the clip.
Transport Buttons:
Jump to Previous clip[20]: If you open multiple files, you can jump to the previous file.
Previous Frame [21]: Moves one frame back. You can also use the Right Arrow key on your keyboard.
Next Frame [22]: Moves one frame forward. You can also use the Left Arrow key on your keyboard.
Jump to Next clip [23]: If you open multiple files, you can jump to the next file.

4. Annotation & Drawing Tools

Located directly below the timeline, this toolbar provides tools for visual feedback on the image.
Clear Annotation [24]: Clear all annotations for selected frame.
Undo [25] / Redo [26]: Reverses or re-applies the last drawing action.
Drawing Primitives:
Eyedropper [27]: Sample color from the image.
Eraser [28]: Erase annotation.
Pencil [29]: Freehand drawing tool.
Circle [30]: Creates circular shapes.
Square [31]: Creates box shapes.
Arrow [32]: Draws directional arrows.
Color Palette [33]: Selects the annotation color .
Stroke Size [34]: Slider to adjust the thickness of the drawing tool.
Save as a playlist[35]: Loaded clips can be saved as a playlist for future use.

5. View Settings (Bottom Right)

Mute / unmute [16]: Toggles audio on/off
Fullscreen [17]: Toggles full-screen mode.
Annotation visibility during playback [18]: Toggle visibility of annotation during playback.
Hide Note Sidebar [19]: Collapse or Expand Note Sidebar


How to open video or image files in Review player?

There are multiple ways to open the Review Player.
In the Project view or Version view, when you hover over a thumbnail, you will see a Brush icon if the task contains video or image files in Soko Cloud. Click it to open the Review Player with that image or video file.

2. In the Project view, Version view, or in the Outputs tab in the side panel, right-click a version and select Play. In Project view and Version view you can select multiple tasks or version to play multiple clips.

How to upload video or image files to Soko media cloud

Each video or image file published remotely is also uploaded to Soko Media Cloud.
In the Version view, right-click a version in the table or thumbnail and select Upload to Soko Media Cloud

In the Side panel, on the Outputs tab, right-click a version and select Upload to Soko Media Cloud.
