Advice from friends

Direct quotes with no modifications that I’ll share with y’all :)
One thing they didn’t explain to me, which I wish I learned earlier…test the eggs before freezing.
You will need to think about what to do with them if god forbid something happens to you. Example…something happens to me, they reach out to my sis to decide. Or I think I could have donated them to research or they “dispose” of them.
My annual freezing charge has steadily gone up…currently $825 (bay area)
Opened a new credit card to charge it on…got the bonus pts to help offset the cost
I used to give IVF injections for women in their home who were too uncomfortable giving it to themselves (thru company Concierge IVF) and almost all of them came from Spring fertility. I know one that did it through UCSF bc they have an older age range they accept clients to (42 I think) where as spring has a younger age. Some may say it’s to keep their “success” rate high.
Spring Fertility! I went to get my fertility checked there last year and it would’ve been where I froze my eggs if they recommended it. My doctor was dr Julia Kim and she was very empathetic and reassuring while still being direct and to the point.
I just recently did some consults too! There actually is no difference in egg quality between 30 and 35 and a steep decline starts after 35. I’ve put off doing it for now because my insurance doesn’t cover egg freezing but if yours does definitely do it! But if you’re debating budget for this vs something else know that there’s still plenty of time!
doctor there was so kind and told me it’s a lot of fear mongering for women so for us in our early 30s don’t feel that your qualities are any worse than 27 cus scientifically there’s marginal differences - I can even send you the egg calculator she showed me -
The FB group “Northern CA IVF/Infertility Support Group” has wayyyyy more content than you’ll ever need, but people regularly share experiences from Bay Area clinics there in case you wanted more anecdotes
