Day 10-12: Advanced Functionality and Integrations
Day 11 Hours 5-6
Day 11 Hour 5-6: Introduction to Integromat
Overview of Integromat and how it differs from Zapier
In this session, we'll be diving into Integromat, a powerful automation platform that allows you to connect your applications and services to streamline your workflow. Like Zapier, Integromat supports a wide range of applications and services, but it also offers some unique features.
The primary difference between Integromat and Zapier is the way they handle workflow automation. While Zapier follows a linear path (trigger leads to an action), Integromat allows for more complex, multi-branching workflows. It offers a visual builder that lets you map out your entire automation, providing a more holistic view of the process.
Integromat also offers more advanced operations like iterators, aggregators, and routers, which provide enhanced control over how data is processed within your workflows. Furthermore, it tends to be more cost-effective for larger volumes of tasks compared to Zapier.
Hands-on exercise: Setting up a basic integration with Integromat
To give you a practical understanding of how Integromat works, we'll run through a hands-on exercise. We'll start with a basic integration, such as connecting Airtable with another application like Gmail.
The exercise will cover setting up a scenario in Integromat, which is the term they use for a workflow. We'll select the apps we want to connect, define the trigger that will start the scenario, and then specify the action that will follow. By the end of this session, you should have a clear understanding of how Integromat works and how it can be used to create advanced automations.
