Chapter: 01. Matter

Matter: Anything that has mass and occupies space.
Mass: The amount of matter contained in an object.
Volume: The space occupied by an object.
Atoms: The smallest possible units of matter that show all the properties of matter.
Molecules: Groups of atoms that show all the properties of matter and can exist independently.
States of matter: Solids, liquids or gases.
Intermolecular space: The space between any two adjacent molecules.
Intermolecular force of attraction: The force of attraction between two neighbouring molecules, also called cohesive force.
Cohesive force: The force of attraction between two neighbouring molecules.
Plasma: The fourth state of matter, formed when a gas is exposed to extremely high temperature.
Diffusion: The spreading out and mixing of a substance with another substance caused by the motion of its particles.
