Grateful & Generous: Upon his rescue, he offers the merchants diamonds, showing appreciation for their help and proving his good character.

Relationships:

2. The Roc (Rukh)
Traits:
Enormous & Powerful: A mythical bird of immense size and strength, capable of carrying large prey like snakes and feeding elephants to its young.
Instinctive & Predatory: Behaves according to its natural instincts, sitting on its egg and hunting for food.
Unknowing Agent: Unaware of Sinbad’s presence or his strategic use of its leg for escape.
Relationships:
With Sinbad: An enormous, indifferent force of nature that Sinbad cleverly manipulates for his escape; it is not a direct antagonist but rather an obstacle and a tool.
With its young: A nurturing parent, bringing food to its offspring.
With its environment: An apex predator in its natural habitat.
3. The Merchants (from the Valley of Diamonds)
Traits:
Resourceful: They have developed a unique and effective method to harvest diamonds from the dangerous valley using birds and meat.
Shrewd & Business-Minded: Primarily interested in acquiring wealth (diamonds) through their established methods.
Initially Petrified/Fearful: Severely startled and scared by Sinbad’s sudden appearance, as no human has ever emerged from the valley before.
Welcoming & Helpful: Once they understand Sinbad’s story, they become kind and assist him in selling his diamonds and arranging his journey home.
Relationships:
With Sinbad: They become his unexpected benefactors and business partners, facilitating his return to Baghdad and further enriching him. They are astonished by his unique survival story.
With the great birds: They exploit the birds’ natural behavior to collect diamonds, viewing them as tools for their trade.
With the Valley of Diamonds: They operate on its periphery, unable to enter it directly but finding an ingenious way to extract its riches.
