Section D: Short Answer Questions
The primary purpose of an e-mail address is to serve as a unique electronic identifier that allows users to send and receive messages over a communication network.
Two advantages of using e-mail are its speed, allowing messages to be sent quickly worldwide, and the ability to send the same message to many people at once.
The “Outbox” folder temporarily stores e-mails that are waiting to be sent; once the e-mails are successfully dispatched, this folder becomes empty.
An e-mail attachment might be sent as a link from Google Drive if its file size exceeds the direct attachment limit, typically 25MB, allowing larger files to be shared.
Ray Tomlinson was the first person to send an e-mail across a network, and he is credited with using the “@” sign to separate the user’s name from the domain name in e-mail addresses.
Section E: Diagram-Based Question
If you are a student creating your own e-mail account for homework, you would most likely click on the “For my personal use” option.
Section F: Long Answer Questions
You would put Ms. Sharma’s e-mail address in the “To” field because she is the primary recipient. You would put Mr. Khan’s e-mail address in the “Bcc” (Blind Carbon Copy) field. This ensures that Mr. Khan receives a copy, but Ms. Sharma will not see his address in the recipient list, maintaining privacy.
I would advise them to create a strong password that is at least 8 characters long and includes a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters, as this makes it much harder for others to guess. I would also tell them to always remember their password but never to share it with anyone, as keeping it secret is key to account security.
Section G: Environmental Awareness or Everyday Use
Sending a birthday invitation via e-mail is more beneficial for the environment because it saves paper, reducing the need to cut down trees and helping to conserve forests. Additionally, it eliminates the need for physical transportation of mail, which reduces fuel consumption and associated carbon emissions.
