The main purpose of the Notes Page View is to show how your speaker notes pages will look in printed form, displaying both the slide and the associated notes together.
Media files can enhance a presentation by explaining points in a better way than just text, and they can make the presentation more interesting and engaging for the audience.
The primary function of an Action Button is to help users navigate from one slide to another or to perform a specific task, like playing media files, when clicked.

Section E: Identifying and/or Differentiate Concepts/Processes (4 Marks)

Slide Transition vs. Animation
Slide Transition: This is the visual effect that happens between slides, determining how one slide moves to the next during a presentation.
Animation: This is a special visual effect applied to text or objects on a single slide, making them move or appear in a specific way.

Section F: Application-Based Questions (4 Marks)

I would choose the ‘After previous’ animation start option for the text box.
I should use the ‘Slide Sorter View’ for this purpose.

Section G: Diagram-Based Question (3 Marks)

The image below shows parts of a PowerPoint window in a specific view. Identify this view and label the two key areas indicated.
{
"image_description": "A simplified screenshot of Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 in Normal view. The main central area is large and empty, labeled 'A'. To the left, a vertical pane shows small numbered rectangles, labeled 'B'. There is no ribbon or bottom notes pane visible in this simplified diagram.",
"style": "Simplified UI, line art, minimal detail, clearly labeled sections A and B",
"elements_to_include": [
"Large main slide area (labeled A)",
"Left vertical pane with small thumbnails (labeled B)",
"No ribbon visible",
"No status bar visible",
"Minimal text/content to keep it generic for view identification"
],
"keywords_for_ai_generator": [
"PowerPoint Normal View simplified diagram",
"UI elements A B",
"slide design interface",
"presentation software layout"
]
}
View Identified: Normal View
Label A: Slide Area
Label B: Slides pane

Section H: Long Answer Questions (6 Marks)

You have created a detailed presentation. Explain the steps you would take to add a background music file from your computer to your presentation.
To add background music, I would click on the ‘Insert’ tab in the PowerPoint ribbon. Then, within the ‘Media’ group, I would select ‘Audio’ and choose ‘Audio on My PC’. This would open the ‘Insert Audio’ dialog box, where I would navigate to and select the desired music file, then click ‘Insert’.
Describe how action buttons can be used to make a presentation more interactive for the audience.
Action buttons make a presentation interactive by allowing the audience to control navigation or trigger specific events. For example, an audience member could click a ‘Next Slide’ button to advance, a ‘Home’ button to return to the start, or a custom button to play a video or open a linked document, empowering them to explore the content at their own pace.
