The Truce is a fascinating annual physical phenomenon that occurs on planet Europe. This phenomenon is made possible thanks to the physical properties of Jupiter’s two largest moons.
Io, due to its seismic activity, is one of Jupiter’s largest moons. The planet produces a large amount of gas and matter on its surface. However, since this moon is not dense enough to possess a gravitational field, all its oxygen production is lost in space.
As for Europe, it has a sufficient gravitational field to attract and create a breathable atmosphere for a few hours. When Io and Europe come together, which happens about every week for two hours, Europe manages to capture Io’s gases, allowing the atmosphere to become breathable. This phenomenon is called Truce, and is an incredible event in planetary physics.
