The Great Truce

The Great Truce is a major event of the colony, consisting of a sliding sports race of more than 100 km crossing the mountains. Selected runners must be able to run on difficult terrain and withstand extreme weather conditions.
This race was also politically important because it determined the policy of the colony. The race survivors train the new board members, while the big winner of the race becomes the Chief Executive Officer. The Great Truce was therefore essential to the proper management of the colony.
It also has an economic interest, with many companies working in this field. This stimulated the colony’s economy, but also affected the social fabric. People working in the running economy are better perceived than those who do not. Indeed, the population considers that not working in this economy does not contribute to the advancement of the colony, given the close link between the colony and the Great Truce. Over the years, the colony has undergone political and social changes. The Great Truce has become a significant event, giving settlers a much-needed break and a time to come together and celebrate their survival in this harsh environment.
