Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Vendor Manager to join our team at Motherboard. In this role, The Vendor Manager will play a crucial role in managing relationships with our vendors, ensuring seamless communication, optimizing the procurement process, and acquiring new vendors.
The ideal candidate should have negotiation skills, a strong background in vendor management, and a deep understanding of the procurement lifecycle. The Vendor Manager will collaborate with various departments to identify vendor needs, evaluate performance, and drive continuous improvement in vendor relationships.
This is a critical role for us at Motherboard as we are at an early stage of growth. As a Vendor Manager, you will be responsible for:
Vendor Acquisition:
Identify potential vendors through market research, networking, and industry analysis.
Evaluate vendor capabilities, conduct due diligence, and negotiate terms for new partnerships.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand specific requirements for new vendor onboarding.
Vendor Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors, ensuring effective communication and understanding of business requirements.
Conduct regular vendor performance assessments and implement improvement plans as needed.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with vendors to ensure favorable agreements for the company.
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and company standards.
Monitor contract expiration dates and proactively renegotiate terms or seek alternative vendors as necessary.
Issue Resolution:
Address and resolve any issues or disputes with vendors in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

In the first week, expect to:

Onboard and integrate into the Motherboard team—Meet with the growth team and other functional teams you will actively work with.
Meet with the divisions to dive deep into our history, assets, roadmap, and unexplored opportunities that you will be able to lead with.
Attend and participate in relevant agile rituals such as standups and meetings to get acquainted with Motherboard’s processes and collaboration dynamics.

In the first month, expect to:

Gain a comprehensive understanding of Motherboard's vendor landscape, current partnerships, and ongoing projects.
Build procurement strategy and processes, outlining the end-to-end journey from vendor acquisition to onboarding.
Identify potential vendors through market research and industry analysis and review existing vendor relationships to identify key areas for improvement.

In the first three months, expect to:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors, ensuring effective communication and understanding of business requirements.
Establish a comprehensive framework for addressing and resolving vendor issues, incorporating preventive measures for continuous improvement.
Showcase measurable improvements in vendor relationships, communication, and procurement processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
3+ years of experience in vendor management, business development, or partnerships.
1+ years of experience in a similar role within the ecommerce or supply chain industry.
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Innovative thinker with a genuine passion for the benefits industry.
