Make sure the device is charged (when you switch on, there should be any light) You can turn on the device either by a switch or by clicking the button in the center (depending on the version)

Download the Omi App: go to app store / play store and search “omi ai”

⁠

After downloading, follow the instructions in the app. You should be able to see transcriptions. If you don’t see it right away, wait 30+ seconds

FAQ:

NEVER KILL THE APP: Once you activated the app, it should work on the background. you can “collapse” the app but if you kill/close it (remove the process) - it will stop transcribing and will disconnect

Charging: Friend device can only be charged when it’s powered on. It will not be charging when powered off

If you have a dev kit 2 (with a small triangle button in the middle), and it doesn’t work, try removing the enclosure, and re-insert the SD card

If you don’t see any light, your device might not have firmware. Install it
