Assignment #2

Assignment Due:
May 20, 2023, 6:00 PM
This follow-up assignment will help you demonstrate two specific pedagogical content creation skills:
Telling a compelling and pedagogically valuable story with numbers.
Connecting that story with pedagogical action.
Both skills are foundational in creating content on the the milgo platform.

Guidelines:

Preform basic descriptive analysis of the . The analysis is for your own orientation, please don’t include it in your final output. The data includes 30 responses of students in a specific science class (grade 8), to a survey evaluating their “Growth Mindset” in milgo.
The columns correspond with the following survey items. 1 = complete disagreement with a statement; 5 = full agreement with a statement.
Student name, if he or she decided to opt out of anonymity.
Compose a Teacher Story using our Google Slides . Design a Story that tells the most pedagogically valuable, accessible, and engaging story, tailored for the teacher of this class. The product should follow these guidelines:
Total of 8 slides.
Make sure you include both insights about the students’ status and pedagogical recommendations that would help the teacher move from insight to action. Feel free to add a Student Presentation in a different deck (included in the 8 slides).
Make an effort to reimagine the current milgo Stories. We are not expecting you to conform with the way we designed them, in any way.
We are not interested in your design skills. Avoid spending too much time on look and feel.
Don’t worry about the feasibility of actually developing the product on the platform. Imagine milgo has all the functionality Google Slides has to offer.
Since we won’t meet again for presenting your assignment, please add notes explaining the reasoning behind your content choices.

Assignment #1

Assignment Due:
May 13, 2023, 19:00
This assignment will help you demonstrate your pedagogical content creation and editing skills. Please avoid investing longer than one day’s work.

Guidelines:

Run a milgo Topic titled: “האם לתלמידים יש אמונות שמקדמות מסוגלות בלמידה?”, and list yourself as a participant (teacher). Fill in the Teacher Survey and report a class size of 6 students when prompted. Then, answer the Student Survey 5 times. Make sure you browse the Teacher Story, the Student Presentation, and the Mngt. Story, to get a complete picture of the Topic.
Imagine you are trying to achieve two goals:
Help the content developer improve this Topic. Remember, the developer is our (dear) partner, not a supplier.
Help decision-makers at Kayma decide whether to invest more funding in developing content with this developer.
Write a 750 words email in Hebrew to help the developer improve this Topic:
Critique the Student Survey items regarding clarity, face validity, and age appropriateness (junior high school).
Mention at least one strength of the Topic.
Describe at least two shortcomings and suggest solutions. Feel free to suggest “wild” ideas.
Rewrite at least two content items (recommendations, slides, etc.) to exemplify “good” content.
Grade the Topic according to your own quality criteria. We expect a final grade of 1-10 and concise reasoning for the given grade. The aim is to decide whether to invest more funding with the developer.

Presentation

When you present your critique to the team, please avoid preparing a deck. You’ll have 20 min to present and then 25 min for Q&A.

Good luck, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
