abstract and minimal, with emphasis being placed on the virtual objects user interacts with
reinforce or represent an element of the narrative

An outside space (track, mountains) expressed through sound and minimal visuals

Weather orientated: wind to start and splashing footsteps, leading to rain in VO7 and drying up in VO8

An indoor space (gym) expressed through sound and minimal visuals

Literal

There perhaps isn’t benefit in placing athletes into environments they are familiar with unless you are doing something to them to emphasise the story, e.g. a gym where laws of physics don’t apply or has a tiny/huge scale

Feels like you are in a real place, but an observer, not present. Humans in it are interesting but distracting.
