The low inventory of homes is a result of a 10 year period where housing starts did not keep up with population growth. While construction has slightly increased, it will take many years for enough homes to be built to correct the inventory shortage. As long as this is the case, home prices in Texas will continue to rise as buyers compete over to few homes.
