POLICY - safe use

general
Users must keep their entire body behind the yellow-line when the machine is in motion or the spindle is running.
users must stay within reach of an emergency stop when a job is running.
additional PPE
N95 dust masks and hearing protection are highly recommended
hold-down
users must always have a staff-member confirm / approve any hold-down setups other than the universal vacuum hold-down table [ex: clamps, vises, fixtures, etc.].
materials
Allowable materials are inherited from the Annex-North Carpentry Lab
Non-ferrous metals are allowable with appropriate CAM programming, tooling, and hold-down considerations.
Engineered wood materials (such as MDF, OSB, plywood, etc.) contain formaldehyde and other harmful components. It is highly recommended that a minimum of a N95 respirator is worn particularly when working with these materials.
