X: Homeless to £10k - Maddie's Story

Maddie Hall just raised £10k to start her mental health pottery business. But a few weeks ago she was a struggling homeless artist. Here’s some key reasons she made the shift — and how you can too:

She found her purpose

2. She realised you can’t succeed trading time for money

Here’s some wisdom from Maddie: “I don’t want to work for someone else. I don’t want to line someone else’s pockets with my brilliance and hard work.” “If you’re a pottery teacher for someone else, you can only ever be a really good pottery teacher. But if you start a business of your own, then it can grow.”

3. She knew what she needed to make it happen.

Maddie knew exactly what she needed to start the business — and the cost. She knew exactly how much funding to ask for. When you have clarity around what you need, you can make a plan to get there.
