This Week’s Bible Story
Parable of the Great Feast (Luke 14:15-24) Jesus told a parable about a man who wanted to throw a really big party and he invited lots of people! But when the party was about to start, people made up reasons why they could not come. So the master told his messengers to invite everybody that they could. Jesus told his friends that the party is like heaven. God wants everyone in the world to spend forever with him in Heaven!
Monthly Verse: For we live by believing and not by seeing. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:7
Check-in + Worship
As kids check in, invite them to join their parents in the Auditorium during worship. Once the worship set ends, wait in the back for kids to join you and lead them back to the Zion Kids area.

Bible Story
Look up Luke 14:15-24 and tell the Bible story in your own words.
Key Story Points:
One day, Jesus told his friends a story. “Once upon a time, there was a man who wanted to throw a really big party, and he invited lots of people!” But when the party was about to start, the people made up reasons why they could not come. “I just bought a new field,” one of them said. “I cannot go to the party because I must go see my new field.” “I just bought five new cows,” another said. “I cannot go to the party because I cannot leave them alone right now.” When the master heard about this, he could not believe it! So he told his messengers, “Go out to all of the streets and all of the fields — and even all of the hills — and invite everybody that you can!” Jesus told his friends that the party is like heaven. Heaven is where God lives — and it’s even better than the biggest party! God wants everyone in the world to spend forever with him in Heaven! Debrief
The man sent invites to lots of people. Why did they say they couldn’t come? Who was Jesus actually referring to when he talked about those people? (The people of Israel.) What’s the point of the story? (God didn’t just come to save the people of Israel. He came to save all people.) Prayer Time
Close your small group time by praying with your kids. This week’s prayer focus is on PRAISE PRAYERS. Ask the kids in your group, “What is one thing you love about God?” (You may need to prompt kids with ideas.) Take time to pray for each of the things that were shared.
Activity
Pass out the party hats and invite kids to decorate them. Remind them that everyone is invited to God’s party!
