Jesus Teaches About Prayer (Luke 11:1-13) One day, Jesus was with his friends and one of them asked, “Lord, how should we pray?” So Jesus started his prayer by praising God! The second thing Jesus prayed for was something he needed — food! The third thing Jesus prayed for was forgiveness. The last thing Jesus prayed for was the courage to obey God and say “No!” to sin.

Key Story Points:
One day, Jesus was with his friends and one of them asked, “Lord, how should we pray?”
So Jesus began to pray. “Father, may your name be kept holy and your kingdom come.” Jesus started his prayer by praising God!
“Please give us the food we need for each day.” The second thing Jesus prayed for was something he needed — food!
Jesus continued to pray. “Forgive us for the things we have done wrong, and help us forgive people who have done something wrong to us.” The third thing Jesus prayed for was forgiveness. When we do something wrong, we should tell God, “I’m sorry.”
Jesus finished his prayer by saying, “Help us to always obey everything that you say.” The last thing Jesus prayed for was the courage to obey God and say “No!” to sin. And Jesus said, “That is how you should pray!”
