Weekly writing (03/28/2026):
This week, my group and I primarily tried to familiarize ourselves with the finer point of the MFE flight operation. We went out to the field to practice launching the aircraft by hand, but we practiced with foam tubes to prevent aircraft damage. We also completed a site analysis of the study area, and we got to see the aircraft in action. Continuous improvement is taking place with operating the aircraft ina simulator.

Overview

This lab will require a site visit to our flight area at ASREC, where we will complete three primary objectives: demonstrate a Believer flight, practice launch technique, and perform a site assessment.

Believer Demo Flight

Anestis and Rose will perform a demonstration flight from takeoff to landing utilizing the beliver checklists and proper handoff procedures. Students are expected to act as visual observers at all times and must comply with .
Visual observers should pay close attention to the following:
Height of the aircraft in the circuit.
Turning points in the circuit (downwind to base, base to final, etc.)
Centerline management for low passes.
Glide slope management for low passes.
