UE 4: Customized 3D models, 3D Text, Simulate Physics

Create customized 3D models


Enable following Plugins: (Search word: Mesh)
Modeling Tools Editor Mode, Polygon Editing
Now in Modes (top bar), will have Mesh Paint, Modeling buttons
Tick Modeling → Create → Polygon → Draw the shape I wanted (set X,Y,Z axis as a flat plane for easier drawing)→ Complete (new object called Extrude is created) →
duplicate the extrude and assemble them into a more complex polygon
Select Element (In Material, Details) for its texture
To merge (not group) the assembled polygon:
: Select all of them → R Click on the selected on Screen (not on World Outliner) → Merge Actors → Click bottom R bottom and rename the merged single object → Save

Create 3D Texts:


2D text: Place Actor → Text Render
3D Text: Plugin → 3D Text → Adjust Extrude, Bevel

Simulate Physics:


e.g. Create a sphere → Details → Physics Tick Simulate Physics → Tick MassinKg (adjust its value change its heaviness)

Create Realistic Landscape:


File → New Level → Default → Mode: Tick Landscape (new grid floor created) → Create New (on L menu);
Material: M_Grond_Grass; Click Fill World button (set the whole floor resolution, area to max) → Create
→ Will jump into Sculpt mode with a brush to create hills

Make a In-Game Camera Feed:


Create a folder called CCTV in Content Browser
Create/choose a Plane/any static mesh as a screen
Place Actor → Scene Capture 2D (a camera is created in screen)
in CCTV folder, R click → Material & Textures → Render Target, name as CCTV → Drag it in Texture Target in Scene Capture Detail
R Click CCTV (Render Target) file → Create Material (CCTV_Mat file created) → Drag the Mat file to any surface of mesh in the screen, that mesh will project the CCTV camera view
In Scene Capture 2D camera Detail: Capture Source (can choose different RGB view, which can be further controlled by Post Process Volume parameters, i.e. Lens, Color Grading, Film, Rendering Feature)
